Rare Miami Funk and Soul compiled by AOTN. TK Disco head honcho Henry Stone had a knack for finding a diamond in the rough and the occasional lump of fool's gold. Luckily as time has since told us his ear might have been much more precious than those before us thought. Sure KC and the Sunshine band churned out some massive campy cuts but the label is filled with lesser known gems that have the diggers going nuts. Edinburgh label Athens Of The North has compiled the rarest of the label and put them on this incredible compilation. Though the Miami sound differed from one artist to the next, the underlying theme was it was damn good regardless of it hit or not. The comp covers straight Funk of the Oeanliners to much more sophisticated soul of Milton Wright and everything in between. Athens Of The North has also treated us to one of Miami's holy grail pieces and included a bonus 45 of Brand New 'Thousand Years'. The label has been on fire for the last year and change and this is no different. Highly recommended.
