Reilly's amateurish delivery is archetypal new wave, while his guitar melodies are unparalleled in the genre. 90's era Thrill Jockey acts like Tortoise and its offshoots seem to draw a lot from the band, but they never quite reached Reilly's instrumental mastery. If this was an R&B, you'd file under it under "Grown & Sexy", but instead you'll find tossed around the new wave and easy listening sections. After purchase, go to the corner store, buy some brown liquid and break out the PAX.
