Endgames / Hugh Masekela: Ecstasy / Don't Go Lose It Baby 12"

Endgames / Hugh Masekela: Ecstasy / Don't Go Lose It Baby 12"

Ballroom Records' disco series continues here with two early 80's cuts, both presented in original unedited form. "Ecstasy" by Endgames is one of those classics that everybody's heard but nobody knows who does it. When I heard Red Alert and other old school gods cut this up, I had no clue that the original artist was a straight up British new wave group about as hip hop as Howard Jones. Yep. The original of this is something that you'll pay $20+ for in shops that know what the deal is, otherwise you may, emphasis on the "may," find this for a dollar somewhere. Why wait for that though, pick up this loud 12" repressing while it lasts. The flip side is Hugh Masekela's electro/boogie/afro excursion "Don't Go Lose It Baby." Andre from Wax Poetics' dad is a big garage head and put me up on this a while back, but I still haven't found an original 12". One of the records from Larry Levan's arsenal back in the day, this will work in a disco or house set just fine. You may want to get the next record cued before Hugh starts rapping tho.
