He's woven his experience touring around the world into a refined dose of neo-soul. Along with the help of multi-instrumentalist Kaidi Tatham, he's built an album with intricate productions that draw deeply on the past while keeping an ear towards the future. The vocalist Rahel is featured extensively on the album, bringing a depth to the tracks with her soothing voice. Lau was able to capture the microphone techniques of Tawiah, Fatima, Olivier St. Louis and Georgia Anne Muldrow as well. The vocal contributions help to fill out Lau's already soulful sound. One Of Many is one of those records that will prove to be rewarding over many listens. Give it time and it will grow.
