Kyle Hall: KMFH - Down! / Xero Vinyl 12" + 7"
Out of print KMFH 12" reissued with bonus 7". The original 12" pressing of "Down" / "Xero" (aka Wild Oats 6) did not stay on the shelves very long. Serious filter mode on this one! "Down!" kicks things off with Kyle Hall working a boogie sample into some raw jacking house. One for the after hours crowd for sure and not for the faint of heart. It's a little easier on the flip with "Xero," a nice percussion workout to get the dancers moving. Along with those two heaters you get the bonus 7", "Our Love" b/w "Donz Critique," that was previously available only as an ultra-limited, exclusive release to THREE Detroit shops. The Pointer Sisters sampling "Our Love" is pretty much worth the price of admission alone. It's almost the sister track to "Down!" but kind of shows it up in a major way. "Donz Critique" takes the tempo through the roof but maintains a heavy soulful vibe. These wont be around long. Recommended.
