Lego Feet: Lego Feet (Autechre) 2LP

Lego Feet: Lego Feet (Autechre) 2LP

Before the world knew Sean Booth and Rob Brown as Autechre they released the first EP for a then fledgling Skam out of the UK as Lego Feet. 20 years after it's initial release, Skam has seen fit to reissue it. Long out of print, the record has reached mythical status for many in the electronic music world. The original pressing routinely catches upwards of $200 on the used market. The duo met through the graffiti scene in Manchester and started making beats on whatever cheap equipment they could get their hands on. There's a definite hip hop influence with the use of samples and drum machines, but the music is some sort of post electro acid workout. The record is simply divided into 4 separate sides so it is a little difficult to talk about specific tracks. All that you need know is that this is Autechre at their most accessible and dance-able; a product of the acid house and rave scene that was prominent at the time of its release. It is abstract in its own way, but merely touches on what Booth and Brown would go on to produce. Now's your chance to get this seminal piece of IDM and electronic music. Recommended.
