Margot & The Nuclear So And So's: Sling Shot to Heaven Vinyl LP

Margot & The Nuclear So And So's: Sling Shot to Heaven Vinyl LP

Margot and the Nuclear So and Sos formed in 2004 and were on-again-off-again until 2014. Sling Shot To Heaven was the 6th and final album Richard Edwards recorded under this alias, with future recordings issued under his own name. Earlier efforts sounded like a secular Belle & Sebastian - lush chamber pop with clever lyrics -  but later records took a left turn to guitar-based indie rock. Sling Shot is in the middle somewhere - quiet and precise in moments, raw and rugged in others. “Bleary-eye-d Blue” begins with a haze of feedback swirling into a Wilco-ish guitar riff, "Swallowin’ Light Beams" sounds like Transformer-era Reed. This album was recorded on analog tape, giving extra warmth to acoustic tracks suck as “Go To Sleep You Little Creep” and “Flying Saucer Blues”. This LP is pressed on 180 gram black vinyl.
