Family Tree's sole recording from 1972 finally reissued! Led by guitarist/songwriter Michael Boothman (yes, the same Michael Boothman behind those cult disco 12"s), Family Tree was one of the first Afro-Trinbagonian bands to infuse traditional Trinidadian folk, calypso, and Shango rhythms, as well as steel pan, into standard Western instrumentation. The result is heavy and grooving, as witnessed on their version of the Cuban standard "Tabu," and the original composition "So Dey Say." An envigorating, and exceedingly soulful fusion of new and old styles brought back on wax by Germany's Cree imprint. Limited to 500 copies with new artwork and printed insert, don't miss!
