Robin S: Show Me Love Vinyl 12"+CD
Originally released in 1990 on London label Champion (Paul Oakenfold was an early A&R), Robin S's "Show Me Love" really took off after Swedish producer StoneBridge put his touch on it in 1992. The initial "Montego Mix" is fine (not included on here), but when SB added the Korg M-1 organ and reshuffled the tune w/ bigger drums and clever arrangement decisions, the monster crossover hit as we know it was born. Needless to say, "Show Me Love" is remixed and/or sampled quite often (check Florist's awesome take here), but the 3 versions included on this 12" really measure up to the ubiquitous, undeniable Stonebridge Club Mix. Todd Edwards turns up the jazz for his swinging, lively re-do, while the Diesel remix shifts the focus to the low end. Lastly, Kerri Chandler strips the track down and rebuilds it into a deeper & darker groover. Pick this up and switch up the flow/mood depending on where you're at.
