Sammy Bananas : Flexin' EP Vinyl 12"
Sammy Bananas returns to Brooklyn's Fool's Gold for some steady Flexin'. Sammy has always been one to bring the party to the wax and this time around is no different. He draws on his deep knowledge of 90s New Jack Swing (check Sammy's Turntable Lab Radio 020 for reference) for four house tracks. It's a party starting mix that only Sammy could pull off so well. The New Jack is in full effect on the title cut where a Daft Punk inspired loop meets Boyz II Men's "Motown Philly" in the middle of the dance floor. From there things get deeper, possibly about as deep as we've heard Mr. Banana's get. Along with the New Jack touch points there's a heavy dose of 90s house running through "Never Say" and "Feel House." It's all quality material. Limited edition colored vinyl comes complete with mustachioed "Mr. Flex" cutout figure.
