Skinny Puppy: Mind - The Perpetual Intercourse Vinyl LP
Sophomore studio album from Vancouver's Skinny Puppy. Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse was originally recorded in 1986 and garnered the band plenty of attention. From the cover art sourced from a pornographic film (much to the ire of Tipper Gore and the Parents Music Resource Center) to the heavy rotation of "Dig It" on MTV, the band was in the public eye. The departure of Bill Leeb to pursue Front Line Assembly allowed for the addition of Dwayne Goettel. Goettel made a noticeable impact on Skinny Puppy's production value, bringing a deep knowledge of equipment and sampling to the group. There's a welcome amount of experimentation in songs like "Stairs And Flowers" and "Gods Gift (Maggot)." Although Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse may not be the band's best work, it's an essential step in the development of their sound. Nine tracks in all. Released by Nettwerk Music Group on black vinyl housed in a full color sleeve.
