Studio OST: Scenes (2012-2015) Vinyl 2LP
This ones's been bubbling under the radar for quite a bit. Studio OST, the collaborative effort from White Material vets Galcher Lustwerk and Alvin Aronson, slipped by almost unnoticed when it was announced. The anonymity implied by the name doesn't draw much attention, save for the fact that the record has been released by Lustwerk's eponymous imprint. The duo seem perfectly paired, Aronson's fuzzed out, hazy vibes complimenting the funk and jazz elements of Lustwerk's music. And although the title may suggest a bunch of tracks that were just thrown together, Scenes (2012-2015) really works as an album. It's something you can listen to end to end with ease. The heart of the material is rooted in house and techno, but there are ambient moments and a little electro as well. It's simply constructed music that does not get lost in sound design, or seem concerned with being overly complex. Modest house. Nine tracks in all. Released by Lustwerk Music on double vinyl.
