The Long Island emo/post-punk quintet expands its sound and explores various subgenres of rock on Tidal Wave, which includes sullen alternative numbers like "I Felt It Too" and "You Can't Look Back" (the intro and certain parts of the song) alongside anthemic "Homecoming" and straight hardcore of the opening track, "Death Wolf." Despite the assorted sounds, the band manages to keep the full-length cohesive, something the veteran rockers deserve a lot of credit for.
